The global asset management and sovereign wealth fund sectors have experienced a 5% increase in brand value over the past year, totaling $73.9 billion for the top 50 firms. This data comes from the 2025 Brand Finance Asset Management and Sovereign Wealth Fund 50 report, which measures the economic benefit a brand owner could gain by licensing their brand.

For the second consecutive year, BlackRock is recognized as the most valuable asset management brand, with a brand value of $8.3 billion, reflecting a 17% increase from the previous year. This growth is attributed to a significant rise in assets under management and strategic acquisitions, including the $30 billion purchase of HPS Investment Partners.

JP Morgan Asset Management holds the second position with a brand value of nearly $7.2 billion, marking a modest 3% increase. Vanguard remains in third place, maintaining its brand value at $6.0 billion, unchanged from 2024. Notably, Canada’s Brookfield Asset Management is the only non-U.S. firm in the global top 16, with its brand value rising 16% to $1.1 billion, driven by strong financial performance and record fundraising efforts exceeding $135 billion.

On the sovereign wealth fund front, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has emerged as both the most valuable and fastest-growing SWF brand, reaching a value of $1.2 billion, an 11% increase over the past year. PIF stands out for its brand value relative to assets under management, showcasing its rapid growth and enhanced brand equity.

PIF's success is attributed to strategic long-term investments and impactful partnerships in sectors like sports and global development. David Haigh, Chairman and CEO of Brand Finance, notes that high-profile investments with positive impacts significantly enhance the brand values of asset managers and sovereign wealth funds. Successful partnerships in sports, particularly in Formula 1 and football, have proven effective in raising international profiles and aligning with the brands' wealth and stature.

Overall, the report highlights the importance of strategic growth and impactful branding in the asset management and sovereign wealth fund sectors, reflecting broader trends in the financial landscape.
