Sustainable Energy First acquires Inenco

Sustainable Energy First, a sustainability and utilities specialist backed by Beech Tree Private Equity, has acquired business utility and sustainability consultancy Inenco. This acquisition aims to make renewable energy more accessible to businesses of all sizes, helping them achieve their Net Zero targets.

The merger creates a scalable energy and sustainability services provider, enhancing energy procurement and specialist sustainability services for their collective customer base. The combined entity will focus on its people and technology, fostering a high-engagement work environment to deliver quality customer service.

Michael Abbott, CEO of Sustainable Energy First, expressed excitement about the acquisition, highlighting the alignment of both companies' missions to inspire and empower their people to create a positive difference. He emphasized that the merger would provide unparalleled energy solutions benefiting clients and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Sustainable Energy First, a certified B Corporation, is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of its clients, who account for 3.5% of UK business power consumption. The company aims to eradicate 327,000 tonnes of CO2e by 2028, equivalent to taking 73,000 cars off the road.

Inenco, with over 50 years of experience in energy management and sustainability, works with some of the largest organizations in the UK to reduce carbon, optimize energy consumption, ensure compliance, implement effective energy procurement strategies, and control costs.
