Ready to seize new opportunities: Ramon del Rosario’s Phinma Education secures initial funding from KKR

Global investment firm KKR has finalized its initial investment in PHINMA Education Holdings, a subsidiary of Phinma Corp, led by Ramon del Rosario. This transaction, first announced in May 2024, received the necessary regulatory approvals before completion.

Chito B. Salazar, president and CEO of PHINMA Education, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating that they are leveraging KKR’s global expertise to enhance completion rates, refine growth strategies, and reach underserved students. Happy A. Tan, KKR's country chief in the Philippines, emphasized the shared resources and expertise aimed at improving lives through education.

The partnership will focus on digital transformation and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. PHINMA Education, which entered the education sector in 2004 by acquiring PHINMA Araullo University, has since expanded its network across the Philippines, serving over 150,000 students. The company plans to extend its reach into Southeast Asia, beginning with Horizon Education in Indonesia.

For nearly 70 years, the Phinma Group has been committed to providing essential services in education, construction materials, property development, and hospitality, benefiting communities in the Philippines and beyond.
